About Spacer
Standoffs hold two panels a fixed distance apart — typical in enclosures, PCBs and front panels. Ends can be female, male or male-female; body length and thread size both matter.
Standards DIN 6379
- Brass
- Conductive and easy to machine, the default for electronics.
- 304 stainless
- Strength plus corrosion resistance.
- Aluminium
- Lightest, good heat transfer.
- Nylon
- Insulating, for electrical isolation.
How to choose
- Body length is the stand-off distance; male thread length is extra.
- Male-female types stack for multi-layer assemblies.
