About Shim Stock & Taper Gauges

Shim stock is thin steel strip of precise thickness supplied in rolls (12.7 mm wide, 1 m or 5 m long) from 0.01 mm thick, cut to length for shimming, adjustment or as feeler stock. Taper gauges are wedge-shaped and read the width of a gap or hole from 1 to 15 mm directly.
