About Ring Gauge

Ring gauges are rings with a bore finished to a stated size. Plain ring gauges check shaft diameters or set bore-measuring instruments; thread ring gauges screw onto a male thread to check it, in metric and inch (UNC/UNF, class 3A) and left-hand threads.

How to choose

• A thread ring gauge is named by the thread it checks: M6-P0.75, 3/8"-16 UNC.
• Female threads are checked with thread plug gauges, not ring gauges.
