About Insert Nut (Plastic 件用)
Threaded inserts put a metal thread into plastic so the part can be assembled and disassembled repeatedly. They install by heat, ultrasonic, press-in or moulding-in; the knurl and grooves resist pull-out and rotation.
- Brass
- Conducts heat well — the standard for heat-set and ultrasonic inserts.
- Aluminium
- Light and inexpensive for low loads.
- 304 stainless
- Corrosion resistance or higher strength.
How to choose
- Choose the installation method first; knurl profiles are not interchangeable.
- Follow the maker's recommended pilot hole — too big loses pull-out, too small splits the boss.
- Heat-set inserts suit 3D printed parts better than press-in types.
