About this category

Wing nuts, with two flat wings so they can be tightened and released by hand without tools - for guards, clamps and fixtures that are opened often. This section also carries cap (acorn) nuts, closed with a dome at the top to cover the exposed thread end, preventing snagging and keeping dirt out while looking tidier. How to choose

• Hand-tightened wing nuts give limited clamp force - do not rely on them alone under load or vibration.
